Installation Safety Advice

Proper installation of gym equipment is critical for safety, stability, and long-term performance. Please ensure the following precautions are followed during assembly and installation:

    • Do not modify, weld, or drill new holes in the frame.
  4. Stability & Anchoring
    • Ensure the racking is level before tightening bolts.
    • Always anchor racks to the floor or wall if specified in the instructions.
    • Use appropriate floor bolts/anchors supplied for your flooring type (concrete, timber, etc.).
    • Check that the structure is solid and does not rock or sway after installation.

Care & Maintenance. Gym Racks & Cable Machines

Regular care and maintenance will ensure your equipment remains safe, functional, and long-lasting. Please follow the guidelines below:

    • Wipe down frames, racks, and attachments regularly with a soft cloth and a mild detergent solution.
    • Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or steel wool, which can damage powder coating and finishes.
    • Dry all surfaces thoroughly after cleaning to prevent rust or corrosion.
    • For rubber parts (handles, bumpers), use warm water and mild soap only.
  2. Rust & Corrosion Prevention
    • Keep racks and machines in a dry, well-ventilated environment.
    • Wipe off sweat or moisture immediately after use.
    • Inspect powder-coated areas for scratches or chips; touch up small marks with appropriate protective paint to prevent rust.
    • Store equipment away from damp areas, direct sunlight, or chemicals.
  3. Moving Parts & Cables
    • Inspect cables before every use for signs of fraying, kinks, or damage. Replace immediately if damaged.
    • Check pulleys, bushings, and bearings monthly for smooth operation.
    • Lubricate moving parts (such as guide rods and pulleys) every 1–3 months using a silicone-based spray or light machine oil.
    • Ensure cables track properly on pulleys during use.
  4. Bolts, Pins & Fasteners
    • Check and tighten all bolts, nuts, and fasteners at least once per month.
    • Inspect safety pins, J-hooks, and attachments regularly for wear or bending. Replace if worn or damaged.
    • Do not continue use if any structural part appears loose, bent, or compromised.
  5. Upholstery & Padding
    • Wipe pads and upholstery after each use with a mild soap solution or antibacterial wipe.
    • Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach, which can crack or dry materials.
    • Inspect stitching and seams regularly. Replace padding if torn or damaged.

  • Sumo Strength warrants all goods to be free from defects in materials and workmanship, and of acceptable quality and durability for the purpose for which they are designed. Warranties and guarantees are provided in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
  • If an item arrives missing parts, is faulty, defective, or has been damaged during manufacturing, please take photos or video clearly showing the problem and contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 3 business days of receiving your delivery.
  • We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include one or more of the following:
  • Supplying missing parts or components
  • Suggesting a method of self-repair (with compensation offered)
  • Arranging repair by a local trades person (with compensation offered)
  • Replacing the product (subject to availability)
  • Offering an alternative product
  • Providing a partial or full store credit or refund
  • You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
