To set up Monnit sensors, create an account on iMonnit.com or the iMonnit mobile app. Add your gateway and sensors by entering the Device ID and Security Code found on the device label, then power them on to establish a connection.
ALTA sensors feature a non-line-of-sight wireless range of 1,200+ feet (through 12+ walls), utilizing Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) for interference immunity.
Battery life varies by model and usage. ALTA coin cell sensors typically last 3+ years, AA battery sensors can last 10+ years, and industrial sensors offer up to 7 years of battery life depending on reporting frequency.
The iMonnit mobile app is available for download on the Apple App Store for iOS devices and the Google Play Store for Android devices.
If a sensor loses connection, move it closer to the gateway to check for signal issues, ensure batteries are fresh, and verify that the gateway is powered on and connected to the internet. ALTA sensors will store readings internally until connection is restored.
Standard commercial sensors are not waterproof. For wet or harsh environments, Monnit offers NEMA 4X (IP66) rated industrial sensors designed to withstand outdoor conditions, dust, and water jets.
