4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your GL.iNet Beryl 7 router for the first time.

- Wi-Fi Repeater (WISP): Connect the router wirelessly to an existing Wi-Fi network (e.g., hotel Wi-Fi, public hotspot). This allows the Beryl 7 to extend the signal and provide a secure sub-network. Configure this in the admin panel under "Internet".
- Tethering USB: Connect a smartphone or USB modem to the USB 3.0 port. The router can use the mobile data connection as its internet source. Enable this feature in the admin panel.
5.2 VPN Client and Server
The Beryl 7 comes with OpenVPN and WireGuard pre-installed, supporting over 30 VPN service providers. It can function as both a VPN client and a VPN server simultaneously.

5.3 AdGuard Home
AdGuard Home is a network-wide ad and tracker blocking software. It can be enabled on your Beryl 7 router to filter content for all connected devices. This feature is configurable via the admin panel.
5.4 Physical Toggle Switch
The physical toggle switch on the side of the router can be assigned a custom function through the admin panel. Common uses include quickly enabling/disabling VPN client or AdGuard Home.
