This device is designed to extract audio from your TV's HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) port and convert it into either Optical (Toslink/SPDIF) or Coaxial digital audio outputs. This allows you to connect your TV's audio to external sound systems such as soundbars, amplifiers, or receivers that do not have HDMI ARC inputs.

  • This converter is designed for TV HDMI ARC ports only, not for standard HDMI or HDMI eARC ports.
  • It supports uncompressed 2-channel LPCM or PCM digital audio signals. It does not decode 5.1 channel audio formats like Dolby Digital or DTS.
  • The signal transmission is one-way; it cannot be reversed.
  • Volume control must be managed directly on your connected audio device (amplifier, soundbar), not via the TV remote.

  2. Connect HDMI ARC Cable: Plug the integrated HDMI ARC cable from the PROZOR adapter into your TV's HDMI ARC port.

  4. Qabbad l-Enerġija: Connect the supplied USB Type-C power cable to the adapter's DC 5V input. Plug the other end (USB-A) into an available USB port on your TV or a 5V USB wall adapter (not included). The adapter requires 5V 1A power.

4.2. TV Audio Settings Configuration

For optimal performance and compatibility, adjust your TV's audio settings as follows:

  1. Enable CEC: Ensure that Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is enabled on your TV. This feature is often named differently by various TV manufacturers (e.g., Anynet+ for Samsung, Bravia Sync for Sony, SimpLink for LG).
  2. Set Audio Output to HDMI ARC: Navigate to your TV's audio settings and select "HDMI ARC" or "Audio Out (HDMI ARC)" as the primary audio output.
  3. Set Audio Format to PCM or LPCM: This converter supports uncompressed 2-channel PCM/LPCM audio. Access your TV's expert audio settings and set the digital audio output format to "PCM" or "LPCM". Avoid "Dolby Digital," "DTS," or other compressed multi-channel formats, as the converter will not decode them.

5. Operazzjoni

Once the setup is complete, your PROZOR ARC Audio Extractor will automatically convert the audio from your TV's ARC port to the selected digital output (Optical or Coaxial).

  • Output Awdjo: The adapter provides a stable, electromagnetic-noise-free transmission of uncompressed 2-channel PCM audio.
  • Kontroll tal-Volum: The TV remote will not control the volume of the connected audio device. Please adjust the volume directly on your soundbar, ampaktar ħaj, jew riċevitur.

6 Issolvi l-problemi

  • Check all cable connections (HDMI, Optical/Coaxial, USB power) are secure.
  • Ensure the audio device (soundbar/amplifier) is powered on and set to the correct input (Optical or Coaxial).
  • Try a different USB power source for the adapter.
Audio is distorted or intermittent.
  • Verify the TV's digital audio format is set to PCM or LPCM. Compressed formats (Dolby, DTS) are not supported for decoding.
