This manual provides essential information for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your iRobot Roomba Combo j9+ robot vacuum and mop. Please read it thoroughly before first use to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your device.
The Roomba Combo j9+ is designed for comprehensive floor care, offering powerful vacuuming and effective mopping. Its advanced features include automatic debris emptying, water refilling, and intelligent navigation to adapt to your home environment.

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all protective films and packing materials are removed from the robot and the Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock. Place the Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock on a hard, level surface against a wall, ensuring clear space around it for the robot to dock easily.

Filling the Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock
The Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock features a solution tank that automatically refills the robot's internal water reservoir. Open the top lid of the dock to access the tank. Fill the tank with clean water or a compatible iRobot cleaning solution. The dock also contains a disposable dust bag for automatic debris emptying from the robot's bin.

For its first use, allow the Roomba Combo j9+ to complete an initial mapping run. This process helps the robot learn the layout of your home, creating an accurate map for efficient cleaning. The robot will map your home up to 7 times faster than previous mapping technologies.

Vacuuming u Mopping
The robot offers three levels of suction power and automatic Carpet Boost for effective dirt and dust pickup on both carpet and hard floors. Its Auto-Retract Mopping System lifts the mop pad to the top of the robot when on carpets, preventing wet messes and keeping carpets dry with D.R.I. (Dry Rug Intelligence).

SmartScrub Technology
For areas requiring a deeper clean, such as mudrooms or kitchens, enable SmartScrub mode. In this mode, the Roomba Combo j9+ will scrub back-and-forth with consistent pressure, providing 2X deeper scrubbing compared to standard vacuum and mop mode.

Dirt Detective Intelligence
Powered by iRobot OS, Dirt Detective learns from past cleaning missions to automatically prioritize dirtier rooms and adjust settings like suction, scrubbing, and cleaning passes. It also ensures that areas like bathrooms are mopped last.

App Control and Scheduling
Control your Roomba Combo j9+ through the iRobot Home App. You can start cleaning, set schedules, define Keep Out Zones, and create Clean Zones. The app also allows you to set your robot to start cleaning when you leave and stop when you come home.

Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock Maintenance
The Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock automatically empties debris for up to 60 days and refills liquid for up to 30 days. Regularly check the dust bag and solution tank levels. Replace the dust bag when full and refill the solution tank as needed.

Regularly clean the Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes and the Edge-Sweeping Brush to maintain optimal cleaning performance. The mop pad should be removed and washed as needed. The robot's internal dustbin is automatically emptied by the Clean Base, but occasional manual cleaning of the filter may be required.

- Robot not emptying bin: Ensure the Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock's dust bag is not full and that the robot is properly docked. Check for any obstructions in the emptying port.
- Mopping pad not saturating: Verify the solution tank in the Clean Base is filled. Ensure the mop pad is correctly attached and not overly dirty.
- Navigation errors/getting stuck: Clear any small obstacles like charging cords or socks from the cleaning path. If the robot frequently gets stuck in specific areas, consider setting up a Keep Out Zone in the app.
