This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Scheppach Compact 15T Log Splitter 400V. Please read these instructions thoroughly before assembly, operation, or maintenance. Keep this manual for future reference.
2. Istruzzjonijiet tas-Sigurtà
Operating a log splitter requires strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent injury. Always prioritize your safety and the safety of others.
- Tagħmir Protettiv Personali (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, heavy-duty gloves, and steel-toed boots. Avoid loose clothing that could get caught in moving parts.
- Żona tax-Xogħol: Operate the log splitter on a firm, level surface. Keep the area clear of bystanders, children, and pets. Ensure adequate lighting and ventilation.
- Sigurtà Elettrika: The unit operates on 400V. Ensure proper electrical connections and use only approved extension cords suitable for outdoor use and the machine's power requirements. Disconnect power before any maintenance or adjustments.
- Log Handling: Only split logs that are free of nails, wire, or other foreign objects. Do not attempt to split logs larger than the specified capacity (max. 450mm diameter, max. 1070mm length).
- Operazzjoni: Always use both hands to operate the controls. Never place hands or feet near the splitting wedge or ram during operation. Do not force the machine; allow it to work at its own pace.
- Manutenzjoni: Perform regular maintenance as described in this manual. Ensure all guards and safety devices are in place and functioning correctly before each use.

4. Setup
Before operating the log splitter, ensure it is correctly assembled and positioned.
- Spakkjar: Neħħi l-komponenti kollha mill-imballaġġ bir-reqqa. Iċċekkja għal xi ħsara waqt it-trasport.
- Assemblea: Follow the detailed assembly instructions provided in the separate assembly guide. Ensure all bolts and fasteners are securely tightened.
- Pożizzjonament: Place the log splitter on a stable, level, and firm surface. The three large transport wheels facilitate movement, but ensure the machine is stationary during operation.
- Konnessjoni Elettrika: Connect the 400V power cable to a suitable power outlet. Verify the voltage and current requirements match your power supply.
- Kontrolli Inizjali: Before first use, check the hydraulic oil level and ensure all safety guards are in place and functional.

5. Istruzzjonijiet Operattivi
Segwi dawn il-passi għal qsim ta' zkuk sikur u effettiv.
- Pjazzament taz-Zkuk: Place the log vertically on the splitting table. Ensure it is stable and centered under the splitting wedge. The swivel table allows for quick adjustment for different log lengths.
- Adjusting Splitting Height: Utilize the Vario Split System to adjust the splitting height according to the log length. This feature allows for efficient splitting of various log sizes without unnecessary ram travel.
- Operazzjoni b'Żewġ Idejn: Engage the splitting mechanism using both control levers simultaneously. This safety feature ensures your hands are away from the splitting area during operation.
- Splitting Process: The 15-ton splitting force will effortlessly split hard and softwoods up to 1070mm in length. If a log gets stuck, release the controls to retract the wedge, then reposition the log or rotate it before attempting to split again.
- Removing Split Wood: Once the log is split, release the controls and allow the wedge to retract fully. Carefully remove the split wood. Use the trunk bracket and lever for easier handling of split products.

6. Manutenzjoni
Manutenzjoni regolari tiżgura l-lonġevità u t-tħaddim sikur tal-log splitter tiegħek.
- Tindif: After each use, clean the machine of wood chips, sawdust, and debris.
- Żejt Idrawliku: Check the hydraulic oil level regularly. Refer to the separate service manual for instructions on checking and refilling hydraulic fluid. Use only recommended hydraulic oil.
- Spezzjonijiet: Periodically inspect all bolts, nuts, and fasteners for tightness. Check for any signs of wear or damage to the splitting wedge, ram, hoses, and electrical cable.
- Lubrikazzjoni: Lubricate moving parts as specified in the service manual to ensure smooth operation.
- Ħażna: When not in use, store the log splitter in a dry, protected area. The compact design allows for easy storage, with a retracted height of only 110 cm.
