The Waveshare PL2303 USB to UART (TTL) Communication Module is designed for reliable serial communication between a computer and various embedded systems or microcontrollers.   • VCCIO: Power output for the target device. Selectable via jumper.
  • GND: Ground connection. Connect to the ground of your target device.
  • TXD: Transmit Data. Connect to the RXD (Receive Data) pin of your target device.
  • RXD: Receive Data. Connect to the TXD (Transmit Data) pin of your target device.

CAUTION: The module is compatible with TTL level only. To avoid any damage, please DO NOT direct connect it to RS232 circuit.

2.3 Logic Level Selection

The module supports various logic levels for compatibility with different microcontrollers. The VCCIO voltage can be configured using the onboard jumper.

  • VCCIO - 5V: Set the jumper to the 5V position for 5V output.
  • VCCIO - 3.3V: Set the jumper to the 3.3V position for 3.3V output.
  • Open Jumper: If the jumper is removed, the module will be powered from the target board, supporting 1.8V/2.5V/3.3V/5V logic levels.

3. Operazzjoni

The module includes three LED indicators to provide visual feedback on its operating status:

  • PWR (Enerġija): Illuminates when the module is powered on.
  • TXD (Trasmetti Data): Flashes when data is being transmitted from the module to the target device.
  • RXD (Receive Data): Flashes when data is being received by the module from the target device.
