Setup
Before beginning any repair, ensure you have a clean, well-lit, and organized workspace. Static electricity can damage sensitive electronic components, so consider using an anti-static mat or wrist strap if available.
- Open the Toolkit: The toolkit case opens magnetically. Separate the two halves to reveal the tools and the integrated sorting tray in the lid.
- Organizza l-Komponenti: Use the magnetic sorting tray in the lid to keep track of screws and small parts as you remove them from your device. This helps prevent loss and simplifies reassembly.
- Identify Necessary Tools: Consult a repair guide specific to your device (iFixit provides many free guides online) to determine which bits and tools are required for your particular repair.

Istruzzjonijiet Operattivi
Always refer to a specific repair guide for your device before proceeding. The following are general instructions for using the tools.
Using the 4 mm Bit Driver:
- Select the appropriate bit for the screw you are removing or installing.
- Insert the bit firmly into the magnetic bit socket of the driver.
- Place the swivel top of the driver in the palm of your hand and rotate the knurled grip to turn the screw. The magnetic tip helps prevent screws from falling.
- The blue cap of the driver can store up to three bits for quick access.

Using Prying and Opening Tools:
- Spudger: Use the pointed end to disconnect cables and the flat end to pry open plastic cases or lift components.
- Jimmy: For more stubborn adhesive or tightly sealed enclosures, carefully insert the thin metal blade of the Jimmy and gently pry.
- Opening Tools & Picks: Insert the thin edge of an opening tool or pick into seams and gaps to separate components or release clips. Work slowly and apply even pressure.
- Suction Handle: Attach the suction handle to a smooth, flat surface (like a screen) and pull gently to create a gap for prying tools.

Using Tweezers:
- The angled precision tweezers are ideal for handling small screws, delicate cables, and tiny components. Their ESD-safe design helps protect sensitive electronics.
Manutenzjoni
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and effectiveness of your toolkit.
- Tindif: After each use, wipe down tools with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust, debris, or residue. For stubborn grime, a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on a cloth can be used, ensuring tools are completely dry before storage.
- Ħażna: Always return tools to their designated spots in the foam insert within the case. This protects them from damage and keeps them organized. The magnetic closure of the case ensures secure storage.
- Kura tal-Bits: Ensure screwdriver bits are clean and free of any metal shavings. Store them securely in the foam insert.
- Plastic Tools: While designed to break before your device, plastic prying tools and picks may wear down or break over time with heavy use. Replacements are available from iFixit.
Issolvi l-problemi
Encountering issues during repair is common. Here are some tips:
- Stripped Screw: If a screw head is stripped, try using a rubber band over the screw head before inserting the screwdriver bit to increase grip. For severely stripped screws, specialized screw extractor tools may be needed (not included in this kit).
- Stuck Adhesive: If components are held by strong adhesive, gentle heat (e.g., from a hairdryer on a low setting, applied carefully and briefly) can help soften it. Always exercise extreme caution to avoid overheating components.
- Lost Screws/Parts: The magnetic sorting tray is designed to prevent this. If parts are lost, retrace your steps and carefully check your workspace.
- Tool Breakage: Plastic tools are designed to break before your device. If a tool breaks, it indicates that the force applied was significant. Assess if the repair requires more robust tools or a different approach.
- Suction Cup Not Sticking: Ensure the surface is clean and dry. For best results, apply firm, even pressure when attaching the suction cup.
