- Always have a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector in your home.
2.2 Minimum Clearances to Combustible Materials
Maintain the following minimum distances from combustible materials to prevent fire hazards:
- Wara: 400 mm
- Sides (Left and Right): 400 mm
- Front (in the entire radiation area of the pane): 800 mm
- Limitu: 600 mm
- Art: 0 mm (if non-combustible hearth is used)
Ensure the floor beneath the stove and extending beyond the minimum front and side clearances is made of a non-combustible material.
2.3 Permitted Fuel
Uża biss dry firewood u briquettes tal-injam. Wood moisture content should be 16% ± 4% according to EN 13240:2006, EN 13229:2006, EN 12815:2006 Annex B, Table B.1. Do not burn treated wood, household waste, plastics, or any other unauthorized materials, as this can damage the stove, create hazardous emissions, and void your warranty.

4. Setup u Installazzjoni
Installation must be performed by a certified installer and comply with all relevant local and national regulations, including those concerning chimney construction and ventilation.
4.1 Location and Hearth Requirements
- Position the stove on a level, non-combustible hearth that extends beyond the minimum clearances specified in Section 2.2.
- Ensure adequate ventilation in the room where the stove is installed to support combustion and prevent negative pressure.
4.2 Konnessjoni tal-Pajp tal-Flue
- The stove features a top flue pipe connection with a diameter of 130 mm.
- Connect the stove to a suitable chimney system using appropriate flue pipes and connectors. Ensure all connections are sealed and airtight.
- The chimney must be of adequate height and diameter to provide the required draft (minimum 12 Pa at nominal heat output).
4.3 First Firing
During the first few firings, the paint on the stove may emit an odor and some smoke as it cures. Ensure the room is well-ventilated during this period. Start with small fires and gradually increase the heat over several days to allow the materials to settle.
5. Istruzzjonijiet Operattivi
5.1 Loading Fuel
- Open the combustion chamber door and place dry firewood or wood briquettes onto the horizontal grate.
- Do not overfill the combustion chamber. Leave space for air circulation.
- Close the door securely after loading fuel.
5.2 Kontrolli tal-Ajru
The Prity K1-9 kW stove features separate primary and secondary air controls:
- Arja Primarja: Used for ignition and burning solid fuels from below. Open fully during ignition and adjust as needed for sustained burning.
- Arja Sekondarja: Introduced above the fuel to burn off uncombusted gases, increasing efficiency and reducing emissions. Adjust for a clean burn and clear glass.
5.3 Valv tal-farfett
The butterfly valve in the flue pipe allows for fine-tuning of the draft. Adjust it to control the intensity of the fire and optimize flue gas temperature. Close it partially to slow down the burn, and open it more to increase the draft.
5.4 Irmied Pan
The large ash pan collects ash from the combustion process. Regularly empty the ash pan to prevent ash buildup from obstructing the primary air supply and affecting combustion efficiency.
6. Manutenzjoni
Regular maintenance is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your stove.
6.1 Tneħħija tal-Irmied
- Allow the stove to cool completely before removing ash.
- Carefully slide out the ash pan and dispose of the ash in a non-combustible container. Even cold-looking ash can contain hot embers.
- Do not let ash accumulate to the point where it touches the grate.
6.2 Glass Cleaning
- Clean the ceramic glass when the stove is cold.
- Use a specialized glass cleaner for wood stoves or a damp cloth dipped in fine ash to remove soot.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or sharp objects that could scratch the glass.
6.3 Chimney and Flue Pipe Cleaning
- Have your chimney and flue pipes inspected and cleaned by a certified chimney sweep at least once a year, or more frequently if you burn continuously.
- This prevents creosote buildup, which is a major cause of chimney fires.
6.4 Spezzjoni Ġenerali
- Periodically check door seals, hinges, and air controls for wear and tear. Replace worn parts as necessary.
- Ensure the fireclay lining is intact. Minor cracks are normal, but significant damage may require replacement.
7 Issolvi l-problemi
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your wood-burning stove.
7.1 Poor Draft / Smoke Spillage
- Kawża: Cold chimney, blocked flue, insufficient air supply, or negative room pressure.
- Soluzzjoni: Ensure chimney is warm before lighting (use a firelighter). Check for blockages in the flue pipe or chimney. Open primary air fully. Ensure adequate room ventilation.
7.2 Excessive Smoke / Inefficient Burn
- Kawża: Wet fuel, insufficient air, or incorrect air control settings.
- Soluzzjoni: Use only dry firewood. Increase primary and secondary air supply. Adjust butterfly valve for better draft.
7.3 Glass Blackening
- Kawża: Wet fuel, low burning temperature, or insufficient secondary air.
- Soluzzjoni: Ensure fuel is dry. Burn hotter fires. Increase secondary air to promote cleaner combustion. Clean glass as per Section 6.2.
For persistent issues, consult a qualified stove technician.
