The LAUNCH Creader 3001 is a "PLUG AND PLAY" scan tool, making setup straightforward. No complex installation is required. Simply connect the device to your vehicle's OBDII port.

1. Read and Clear Codes
This function allows you to retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) and clear them after repairs. The device includes a built-in DTC definition lookup library.
- From the main menu, select "Read Codes" to view current, pending, or historic fault codes.
- To clear codes, select "Erase Codes". Confirm the action when prompted. This will turn off the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) or "Check Engine Light" on your dashboard.

2. I/M Readiness Status Test
This function checks the status of emission-related monitors (e.g., misfire system, fuel system) to ensure they are ready for an emissions test. This helps you pass smog checks easily.
- Select "I/M Readiness" from the diagnostic menu.
- The screen will display the status of various monitors as "OK" (complete) or "INC" (incomplete).

The EVAP test function initiates a leak test for the vehicle's Evaporative Emission System. This helps identify issues with fuel vapor leaks.
- Select "Evap System Test" to perform this diagnostic.
