The Trelock Folding Bike Lock comes with a versatile mounting bracket that can be attached to your bike frame using either the provided straps or by utilizing existing bottle cage mounts.
Method 1: Using Mounting Straps
- Identify a suitable location on your bike frame, typically the down tube or seat tube, where the bracket will not interfere with pedaling or other bike components.
- Place the mounting bracket against the frame.
- Thread the two mounting straps through the designated slots on the bracket and around the bike frame.
- Pull the straps tight and secure them firmly. Ensure the bracket is stable and does not move.
Method 2: Using Bottle Cage Mounts
- Align the mounting bracket with the two threaded holes typically used for a bottle cage on your bike frame.
- Insert the provided screws through the bracket and into the threaded holes.
- Tighten the screws securely. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the frame or screws.
Once the bracket is installed, slide the folded lock into the bracket. The sturdy rubber closing mechanism will hold the lock securely in place during transport.

Unfolding and Extending the Lock
- Remove the folded lock from its mounting bracket.
- Grasp the lock and unfold the individual steel bars. The hinges allow for full articulation, enabling you to extend the lock to its full 34-inch (85 cm) length.
- Maneuver the extended lock around your bicycle frame and a fixed object (e.g., a bike rack, lamppost, or sturdy fence). Ensure the object is immovable and robust.

- Once the lock is positioned around your bike and the fixed object, insert the end bar into the lock mechanism until it clicks securely.
- To unlock, insert one of the provided keys into the lock cylinder.
- Turn the key to disengage the locking mechanism. The lock features an IN-X Cylinder designed to prevent lock picking.
- Remove the end bar from the lock.
- Fold the lock back into its compact form and return it to the mounting bracket for transport.

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and smooth operation of your Trelock Folding Bike Lock.
