5. Setup

5.1 Installazzjoni tal-batterija

The Lutron PH-222 requires batteries for operation (not included in the package). To install or replace batteries:

  1. Twist the top cap of the meter counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
  2. Daħħal żewġ batteriji AAA ta' 1.5V, waqt li tosserva l-polarità korretta (+/-) kif indikat ġewwa l-kompartiment.
  3. Securely close the battery compartment by twisting the cap clockwise until it is tight to maintain the waterproof seal.

5.2 Tħejjija tal-Elettrodi

  1. Carefully remove the protective cap from the bottom of the pH electrode. The cap typically contains a small amount of storage solution to keep the electrode moist.
  2. Rinse the electrode tip with distilled or deionized water to remove any residual storage solution. Gently blot dry with a lint-free tissue. Do not rub the glass bulb.

6. Operazzjoni

6.1 Power On/Off

Agħfas il- QAWWA buttuna biex tixgħel jew titfi l-miter.

6.2 Teħid ta 'Kejl

  1. Ensure the meter is calibrated (refer to Section 7).
  2. Immerse the pH electrode tip into the sample solution, ensuring the glass bulb is fully submerged.
  3. Gently stir the solution to ensure homogeneity and allow the reading to stabilize. The display will show the pH value.
  4. Irreġistra l-qari stabbli tal-pH.
  5. After measurement, rinse the electrode with distilled water and replace the protective cap.

6.3 Funzjoni ta' Żamma tad-Data

Biex tiffriża l-qari attwali fuq id-displej, agħfas il-buttuna ŻOMM button. Press it again to release the hold and return to live measurement.

6.4 Data Logging and Recall

The PH-222 can store up to 100 measurement points. Refer to the detailed operation manual included in the package for specific instructions on how to use the REC button for data logging and recall functions.

7. Kalibrazzjoni

Regular calibration is essential for accurate pH measurements. The Lutron PH-222 supports multi-point calibration using standard buffer solutions. It is recommended to calibrate the meter before each use or if readings appear inaccurate.

7.1 Calibration Procedure (Two-Point)

The PH-222 typically uses a two-point calibration with pH 7.00 and pH 4.00 (or pH 10.00) buffer solutions.

  1. Prepare fresh pH 7.00 and pH 4.00 buffer solutions. Ensure they are at the same temperature as your samples.
  2. Turn on the meter and rinse the electrode with distilled water.
  3. Għaddas l-elettrodu fis-soluzzjoni buffer ta' pH 7.00.
  4. Agħfas u żomm il- CAL button (often integrated with the REC button, refer to the device's specific button functions) until the calibration mode is activated. The display will typically show 'CAL' or a flashing pH value.
  5. Wait for the reading to stabilize. The meter will automatically recognize the buffer and complete the calibration for pH 7.00.
  6. Laħlaħ l-elettrodu b'ilma distillat.
  7. Għaddas l-elettrodu fis-soluzzjoni buffer ta' pH 4.00.
  8. Repeat the calibration process. The meter will automatically recognize the buffer and complete the calibration for pH 4.00.
  9. Ladarba l-kalibrazzjoni tkun kompluta, il-miter jerġa' lura għall-modalità tal-kejl.

8. Manutenzjoni

8.1 Electrode Care and Storage

  • Always keep the electrode tip moist. Never allow the electrode to dry out. Store it in its protective cap containing a small amount of storage solution (or 3M KCl solution).
  • Rinse the electrode with distilled water after each use to prevent contamination.
  • If the electrode becomes dirty or fouled, clean it gently according to the instructions in the full operation manual.
  • Replace the electrode when it no longer calibrates correctly or provides stable readings.

8.2 Tindif Ġenerali

Imsaħ il-qafas tal-miter b'reklamaramp drapp. Tużax tindif jew solventi li joborxu.

8.3 Sostituzzjoni tal-batterija

Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or if the meter fails to power on. Refer to Section 5.1 for battery installation instructions.
