Setup
Proper setup of your Apeks XTX 200 regulator is crucial for safe and efficient diving. Always ensure all components are clean and free of debris before assembly.
1. L-ewwel Stage Konnessjoni
L-ewwel stage connects directly to your scuba cylinder valve. Ensure the O-ring on the first stage is in good condition and properly seated. For DIN connections, screw the first stage directly into the cylinder valve until hand-tight. Do not overtighten.

2. It-tieni Stage and Hose Connections
Connect the primary second stage hose to a medium pressure port on the first stage. Connect the alternate air source (octopus) hose to another medium pressure port. Ensure all hose connections are securely tightened using an appropriate wrench, but avoid excessive force. The XTX 200 features 3/8” medium pressure ports for flexible hose routing.

3. Pressure Gauge and Inflator Hose
Attach your submersible pressure gauge (SPG) to a high pressure port on the first stage. Connect the BCD inflator hose to a dedicated low pressure port. Verify all connections are tight and secure.
Istruzzjonijiet Operattivi
Before each dive, perform a pre-dive check to ensure your regulator is functioning correctly.
1. Pre-Dive Check
- Spezzjoni Viżwali: Check all hoses for kinks, cracks, or damage. Inspect mouthpieces for tears.
- O-rings: Ensure the cylinder valve O-ring is present and in good condition.
- Provvista tal-Ajru: Slowly open the cylinder valve fully. Listen for any air leaks.
- Gejġ tal-Pressjoni: Confirm the SPG reads the correct cylinder pressure.
- Breathing Test: Take a few breaths from both the primary and alternate second stages. Ensure smooth, easy inhalation and exhalation.
- Buttuna tat-tindif: Press the purge button on both second stages to confirm air flow.
- BCD Inflator: Test the BCD inflator and deflator buttons.
2. Adjusting the Second Stage
The XTX 200 second stage offers diver-adjustable controls:
- Cracking Resistance Control: Adjusts the effort required to open the valve and begin air flow. Turn clockwise for higher resistance (pre-dive mode) and counter-clockwise for lower resistance (dive mode).
- Venturi Lever: Controls the venturi effect, which assists in air delivery. In the '+' position, it provides maximum assistance for easier breathing. In the '-' position, it reduces assistance, ideal for surface swimming or when the regulator is not in use to prevent free-flow.
Manutenzjoni
Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and safe operation of your Apeks XTX 200 regulator.
1. Post-Dive Care
- Tlaħliħ: After each dive, thoroughly rinse the entire regulator in fresh, clean water. Ensure the dust cap is securely in place on the first stage before rinsing. Do not press the purge button while rinsing unless the first stage is pressurized.
- Tnixxif: Allow the regulator to air dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Ħażna: Store your regulator in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
2. Manutenzjoni Perjodika
Your Apeks XTX 200 regulator requires periodic professional servicing by an Authorized Apeks Technician. This typically includes:
- Spezzjoni Annwali: A yearly check-up to ensure all components are functioning correctly and to identify any potential issues.
- Reviżjoni: A complete overhaul, including replacement of all O-rings and worn parts, is recommended every two years or after 100 dives, whichever comes first.
Failure to perform regular maintenance and servicing may void your warranty and compromise diver safety.
