SmartKey Re-keying Procedure

The SmartKey Re-key Technology allows you to re-key your lock to a new Kwikset key in three simple steps:

1. Insert Current Key: Insert your currently working key fully into the cylinder and turn it 90 degrees clockwise to the horizontal locked position.
2. Insert SmartKey Tool: While the current key is still in the locked position, insert the SmartKey Re-key Tool firmly and fully into the small hole next to the keyway. You will feel a slight click. Remove the SmartKey Tool.
3. Daħħal Ċavetta Ġdida: Remove the current key. Insert your new Kwikset key fully into the cylinder and turn it 180 degrees counter-clockwise to the unlocked position. Then turn it 90 degrees clockwise back to the locked position. Remove the new key. Your lock is now re-keyed to the new key.
