3. Setup u Installazzjoni
Immuntar
The JDM11 series counters are designed for panel mounting. Refer to the dimension diagrams (Figures 1, 2, 3) for appropriate cutout sizes and mounting hole locations.
Istruzzjonijiet tal-Wiring
Ensure all power is disconnected before attempting any wiring. The counter features screw terminals for secure connections. Access the terminals by removing the rear cover (typically secured by 4 screws).
3.1. Nru Voltage Counting (Contact Signal)
This method is used when the counting signal is provided by a switch that does not supply voltage, such as a mechanical switch, micro switch, travel switch, button, or a 2-wire proximity switch.
- Connect the counting signal to terminals 1 and 2.
- Connect the working power supply to terminals 3 and 4.

3.2. With Voltage Counting (Voltage Signal)
This method is used when the counting signal itself carries a voltage, such as a power-on signal, level signal, pulse signal, or PLC signal. It is critical that the counting voltage u l-provvista tal-enerġija voltage huma konsistenti.
- Qabbad il-voltage signal to the appropriate input terminals as indicated in the wiring diagram (Figure 6).
- Ensure the working power supply is connected to terminals 3 and 4, matching the signal voltage.
3.3. Sensor Counting
For sensor-based counting, a sensor (e.g., photoelectric switch, proximity switch, Hall switch, magnetic switch) is used. NPN normally open sensors are generally recommended.
- Connect the sensor's output to terminals 1, 2, and 3 as shown in the diagram.
- Connect the working power supply for the counter to terminals 4 and 5.
- The sensor itself typically requires a DC6-36V power supply.

4. Istruzzjonijiet Operattivi
4.1. Ixgħel
Once correctly wired and mounted, apply power to the counter. The LED display will illuminate, typically showing '000000' or the last saved count if power failure memory is active.
4.2. Counting Operation
The counter will accumulate counts based on the input signals received through the configured wiring method (contact, voltage, or sensor). Each valid signal pulse will increment the displayed count.
4.3. Resetting the Counter
To reset the displayed count to zero, press the 'RESET' button located on the front panel of the counter.
4.4. Power Failure Memory
The JDM11 series counters are equipped with a power failure memory function. In the event of a power outage, the last recorded count will be retained and automatically restored when power is re-established.

5. Manutenzjoni
- Keep the counter clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Ensure all wiring connections remain secure. Periodically check screw terminals for tightness.
- Avoid exposing the device to excessive moisture, extreme temperatures, or corrosive environments.
- Do not attempt to open the device for internal repairs unless you are a qualified technician.
6 Issolvi l-problemi
- Counter not displaying or not powering on:
- Check the power supply connection to terminals 3 and 4. Ensure the voltage matches the counter's specified input (e.g., AC220V, DC24V).
- Verify that the power source is active. - Counter not counting:
- Confirm that the counting signal is correctly wired to terminals 1 and 2 (for contact/voltage signals) or 1, 2, 3 (for sensor signals).
- Ensure the type of counting signal (no voltage, voltage, or sensor) matches the wiring configuration.
- For voltage counting, verify that the counting signal voltage is consistent with the counter's power supply voltage.
- For sensor counting, check if the sensor is properly powered (DC6-36V for NPN normally open) and functioning correctly. Ensure the sensor is detecting objects within its sensing distance.
- Check if the count speed of the input signal exceeds the counter's maximum (10Hz). - Incorrect count:
- Mill-ġdidview the wiring for any loose connections or short circuits.
- Ensure the input signal is clean and free from electrical noise that could cause false counts. - Reset button not working:
- Ensure the button is not physically stuck. If the issue persists, contact support.
7. Għajnuniet għall-Utenti
- Ivverifika l-Wiring: Always double-check your wiring against the diagrams provided for your specific counting method (no-voltage, voltage, or sensor) before applying power. Incorrect wiring is a common cause of malfunction.
- Għażla tas-Sensor: When using a sensor, ensure it is compatible with the counter (e.g., NPN normally open) and that its power supply is correctly provided and matches the counter's requirements if applicable.
- Konsiderazzjonijiet Ambjentali: While robust, protecting the counter from excessive dust, moisture, and vibration will prolong its lifespan and ensure reliable operation.
