1. Introduzzjoni
The eletechsup PTA8D08 is an 8-channel PT100 RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) RS485 temperature sensor module designed for precise temperature acquisition. 4. Setup u Wiring
Proper wiring is crucial for the correct operation of the PTA8D08 module. Ensure all connections are secure before applying power.
4.1. PT100 Sensor Wiring
The module supports both 2-wire and 3-wire PT100 sensors. Refer to the diagrams below for correct wiring.
4.1.1. 3-Wire PT100 Probe Wiring
Connect the red wire of the 3-wire probe to the P+ terminal. The other two wires of the same color should be connected to the P- and GND terminals. The specific order of P- and GND for these two wires does not matter.

Connect the red wire of the 2-wire probe to the P+ terminal. The blue wire should be connected to both the P- and G terminals.

4.2. RS485 Bus Wiring
The PTA8D08 module communicates via RS485. Multiple modules can be cascaded on a single bus. Ensure proper termination resistors are used if necessary, especially for longer bus lengths or high baud rates.
4.2.1. PC to Multiple Modules Wiring
Connect the RS485 A+ and B- lines from your PC's RS485 adapter to the corresponding terminals on the first module. Then, daisy-chain the A+ and B- lines to subsequent modules. Power each module with a DC 8-30V supply.

4.2.2. PLC to Multiple Modules Wiring
Similar to PC wiring, connect the RS485 A+ and B- lines from your PLC to the first module, then daisy-chain to others. Provide DC 8-30V power to each module.

5. Operazzjoni
The PTA8D08 module communicates using the MODBUS RTU protocol. It supports 03 read commands for data acquisition and 06 or 16 write commands for configuration.
5.1. Protokoll MODBUS RTU
The module operates with a default serial port baud rate of 9600, N, 8, 1 (9600 baud, No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit). You can modify the 485 address to cascade up to 247 modules on a single bus.
