5. Installazzjoni (Setup)
The EAB6L RCBO is designed for DIN rail mounting. Ensure the power supply is completely disconnected before proceeding with installation.
- Immuntar: Securely attach the RCBO to a standard DIN rail in your electrical distribution board. The device features clips on the bottom for easy attachment.
- Wiring:
- Connect the incoming live and neutral wires to the 'IN' terminals at the top of the RCBO (refer to Figure 3).
- Connect the outgoing live and neutral wires to the 'OUT' terminals at the bottom of the RCBO (refer to Figure 4).
- Kun żgur li l-konnessjonijiet kollha huma ssikkati u siguri biex tevita kuntatti maħlula u sħana żejda.
- The standard practice is to connect the supply to the top terminals and the load to the bottom terminals.
- Verifika: After wiring, double-check all connections for correctness and tightness. Ensure no bare wires are exposed.

6. Operazzjoni
- Tixgħel: Once installed and wired correctly, switch on the main power supply. Push the blue toggle switch of the RCBO upwards to the 'ON' position. The indicator window should show green.
- Jitfi: To disconnect power to the protected circuit, push the blue toggle switch downwards to the 'OFF' position. The indicator window should show red.
- Indikazzjoni tal-Vjaġġ: In case of an overload, short circuit, or earth fault, the RCBO will automatically trip to the middle position. The indicator window will show red.
- Resetting after a Trip:
- Identify and rectify the cause of the trip (e.g., remove overloaded appliances, fix short circuits or earth faults).
- Push the toggle switch fully downwards to the 'OFF' position.
- Imbagħad, imbotta s-swiċċ tat-toggle 'il fuq għall-pożizzjoni 'ON' biex terġa' tinkiseb il-kurrent.
- Buttuna tat-test: The orange 'Press Monthly' button is for testing the residual current protection function. Press this button monthly to ensure the RCBO trips correctly. If it does not trip, the device may be faulty and needs replacement.
7. Manutenzjoni
- Ittestjar regolari: Press the 'Press Monthly' test button at least once a month to verify the RCD function.
- Spezzjoni Viżwali: Periodically inspect the RCBO for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Tindif: Żomm l-apparat nadif u ħieles mit-trab u l-fdalijiet. Uża drapp niexef u artab għat-tindif. Tużax prodotti tat-tindif likwidi.
- Kontroll Professjonali: It is recommended to have your electrical system, including protective devices, inspected by a qualified electrician periodically.
8 Issolvi l-problemi
| Problema | Kawża Possibbli | Soluzzjoni |
|---|---|---|
| RCBO trips frequently | Overload, short circuit, or earth fault in the circuit. | Identify and rectify the fault. Reduce load, check for damaged wiring/appliances. |
| RCBO does not reset | Persistent fault in the circuit, or internal damage to the RCBO. | Ensure the fault is cleared. If it still doesn't reset, the RCBO might be faulty and needs replacement by a qualified electrician. |
| RCBO does not trip when test button is pressed | Faulty residual current detection mechanism. | The RCBO is faulty and must be replaced immediately by a qualified electrician. |
| RCBO feels hot to the touch | Overload, loose connections, or undersized wiring. | Immediately disconnect power. Check for overload, tighten connections, and ensure wiring is appropriate for the current rating. Consult an electrician. |
9. Għajnuniet għall-Utenti
- Direzzjoni tal-Wajers: While some circuit breakers can be wired with supply at the bottom and load at the top, it is generally recommended and standard practice to connect the main power supply to the 'IN' terminals (top) and the load to the 'OUT' terminals (bottom) for safety and consistency. Always refer to the markings on the device.
- Ittestjar ta' kull xahar: Make it a habit to press the test button on your RCBO every month. This simple check ensures that the leakage protection mechanism is functioning correctly, providing continuous safety for your home.
