4. Setup u Installazzjoni

Proper installation is crucial for safety. Refer to the diagrams below and follow these steps carefully.

4.1 Rear-Facing Installation (0-15 months)

Position the car seat on the vehicle's rear seat. Ensure the recline angle is appropriate for an infant. Route the vehicle's seat belt through the designated rear-facing belt path and buckle it. Press down firmly on the car seat while tightening the seat belt to remove slack. Verify the seat is secure and does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

4.2 Forward-Facing Installation (15 months - 12 years)

Position the car seat on the vehicle's rear seat in the forward-facing orientation. Route the vehicle's seat belt through the designated forward-facing belt path and buckle it. Press down firmly on the car seat while tightening the seat belt. Attach the top tether strap to the vehicle's tether anchor point and tighten it. Verify the seat is secure and does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

2. Bring the shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and buckle the crotch strap.
3. Connect the two buckle tongues into the buckle until you hear a click.
4. Slide the chest clip up to armpit level.
5. Pull the harness adjustment strap to tighten the harness until it is snug against your child's body. You should not be able to pinch any slack in the harness straps at the shoulder.

5.2 Adjusting Recline Position

The car seat offers 3 recline positions. Locate the recline adjustment lever, typically at the front or side of the base. Squeeze the lever and adjust the seat to the desired recline angle. Ensure the seat locks securely into place before placing your child in it.

5.3 Adjusting Headrest and Shoulder Straps

The headrest and shoulder straps can be adjusted simultaneously to fit your growing child. Locate the headrest adjustment lever, usually at the top of the headrest. Squeeze the lever and slide the headrest up or down until the shoulder straps are at or just below your child's shoulders for rear-facing, or at or just above your child's shoulders for forward-facing.
