The DAYTECH AJ-762 smoke detector offers two installation methods: magnetic mounting for quick, drill-free setup, and traditional screw mounting for a more permanent fixture.

For optimal smoke detection, install the detector in the center of the ceiling in each room. Avoid installing near air vents, windows, or in areas with high humidity (e.g., bathrooms) or extreme temperatures.

4.3 Screw Mounting (Traditional)

  2. Drill toqob: Drill holes at the marked positions. Insert the wall plugs if necessary.

4.4 Post-Installation Test

After installation, always perform a test to ensure the detector is functioning correctly. Refer to section 5.1 for testing instructions.

5.1 Testing the Smoke Detector

It is recommended to test your smoke detector at least once a month to ensure it is working properly.

  1. Press and hold the test/silence button located on the center of the detector for approximately 2 seconds.
  2. The detector will emit a loud alarm sound (85 dB) and the LED indicator will flash red.
  3. Release the button. The alarm will stop, and the LED will return to its normal operating state (flashing every 50 seconds).
  4. If the alarm does not sound or the LED does not flash, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

5.2 Funzjoni tas-Silenzju

In case of a non-emergency alarm (e.g., cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence the alarm:

  • After 10 minutes, if smoke is still present, the alarm will reactivate.

The detector is equipped with a 10-year sealed lithium battery. When the battery is nearing the end of its life, the detector will emit a short chirp every 50 seconds, accompanied by a red LED flash. This indicates that the unit needs to be replaced. This alert will continue for approximately 30 days before the battery is fully depleted.

6. Manutenzjoni

  • Test ta' Kull Xahar: Test the smoke detector monthly using the test/silence button.
  • Tindif: Dust can accumulate on the detector and affect its performance. Gently vacuum the exterior of the detector with a soft brush attachment at least once a year. Do not use water or cleaning solvents.

7 Issolvi l-problemi
