Setup

It-Tħaddim tal-Apparat

The Gracioso Cassette Player Recorder Converter offers two power options:

  1. Qawwa tal-batterija: Insert 4 C-size batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Qawwa AC: Connect the included Type-C power cable to the DC 5V port on the side of the unit and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.

Inserting Media

  • Cassette Tape: Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment. Insert a cassette tape with the open side facing you, then close the compartment.
  • USB Drive: Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port on the side of the unit.
  • Karta TF (Mikro SD): Insert a TF card into the TF card slot on the side of the unit.

Modi ta' Daqq

The device supports three playback modes:

  1. Play tape: Insert a cassette tape. Press the PLAY button to start playback. Use the F.REW (Fast Rewind) and F.FWD (Fast Forward) buttons to navigate the tape. Press STOP/EJECT to stop playback and open the cassette compartment.
  2. Ilgħab USB: Daħħal USB drive bl-awdjo files. The device will automatically detect and begin playing. Use the playback controls (Play/Pause, Next/Previous Track) to manage audio.
  3. TF Card Play: Daħħal kard TF (Micro SD) bl-awdjo files. The device will automatically detect and begin playing. Use the playback controls to manage audio.

Adjust the volume using the VOL slider on the side of the unit. For private listening, plug 3.5mm headphones into the PHONE jack.

Recording and Conversion

The device supports various recording and conversion functions:

1. Recording to Tape / USB / SD Card via Microphone

You can record external audio (e.g., voice) directly to a blank cassette tape, USB drive, or SD card using the built-in microphone or an external microphone connected to the MIC jack.

  • Insert the desired recording media (blank tape, USB, or SD card).
  • Press the RECORD button to begin recording.
  • Speak clearly into the built-in microphone or external microphone.
  • Press the STOP button to end recording.

2. Converting Cassette to USB/SD Card

This function allows you to digitize your cassette tape collection.

  • Insert a USB drive or TF card into the corresponding slot.
  • Press the PLAY button for the cassette tape.
  • Press the RECORD button. The audio from the cassette will be recorded onto the USB drive or TF card.
  • Press the STOP button when the conversion is complete.

3. Converting USB/SD Card to Cassette

You can transfer digital audio from a USB drive or SD card onto a blank cassette tape.

  • Press the RECORD button. The audio from the USB/TF card will be recorded onto the cassette tape.

4. Converting Cassette to Computer (via Audacity)

To transfer cassette audio to your computer for further editing or archiving, you will use the included Type-C data cable and Audacity software.

  • Install Audacity software from the provided CD-ROM or download it from the official Audacity websit (www.audacityteam.org/download/).
  • Connect the cassette player to your computer using the Type-C charging and data cable.
  • Open Audacity on your computer.
  • In Audacity, select the correct input device (usually labeled as 'USB Audio CODEC' or similar).
  • Press the PLAY button on the cassette player.
  • Click the RECORD button in Audacity to begin recording the audio from the cassette.
  • Once the tape finishes or you wish to stop recording, press the STOP button on the cassette player and then the STOP button in Audacity.
  • You can then edit and export your audio files in Audacity.

Note: Only use the original data cable for computer connection. If your computer has only USB-C ports, an adapter may be required.
