1. Introduzzjoni

The QINIZX 5S Active Battery Equalizer Balancer is an inductive energy transfer board designed to actively balance the voltage of individual cells within a 5-series (5S) lithium-ion (Li-ion), lithium polymer (Lipo), or lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4/LFP) battery pack. This device helps maintain cell voltage consistency, which is crucial for the longevity and performance of your battery pack. It operates by transferring energy between adjacent cells to equalize their voltage differenzi.

This equalizer is an auxiliary component and is not a Battery Management System (BMS). It does not provide overvoltage or overdischarge protection. For comprehensive battery protection, it is recommended to use this equalizer in parallel with a suitable BMS protection board.

  • This product is designed for 5S battery packs only. Do not use with other cell counts.

  • This equalization board is not a BMS. It does not provide overvoltage, undervoltage, or overcurrent protection. It must be used in conjunction with a BMS for full battery protection.
  • Do not use with low-quality or severely imbalanced battery packs, as this may cause the indicator light to flash and report errors.
  • The board may become warm during active balancing, especially with significant cell imbalances. This is normal operation.

5. Setup u Installazzjoni

Careful wiring is essential for the correct and safe operation of the equalizer board. Always ensure the battery pack is partially discharged before beginning installation.

Wiring Definition (for 5S battery pack):

  • B-: The total negative pole of the battery pack (negative pole of the first battery).
  • B1: The positive pole of the first battery.
  • B2: The positive pole of the second battery.
  • B3: The positive pole of the third battery.
  • B4: The positive pole of the fourth battery.
  • B5: The positive pole of the fifth battery (and the total positive pole of the 5S pack).

Passi ta' Installazzjoni:

  1. Prepare Battery Pack: Ensure your 5S battery pack is partially discharged.
  2. Konnessjonijiet tal-Wajer: Solder or securely connect each wire from the provided 6-pin XH2.54mm terminal cable to the corresponding battery cell terminals as defined above (B-, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5). Double-check all connections for correctness and polarity.

  4. Connect to Board: Carefully insert the wired 6-pin connector into the socket on the equalizer board. Remember to insert it obliquely, ensuring the "B-" pin makes contact first.

6. Operazzjoni

The QINIZX 5S Active Battery Equalizer Balancer operates automatically to maintain cell voltage balance. It continuously monitors the voltage differences between adjacent cells.

Balancing Mechanism:

  • The equalization process is triggered when the voltage difference between any two adjacent cells exceeds 0.1V.
  • Energy is transferred from the higher voltage cell to the lower voltage cell until the voltage difference between them is less than 0.03V, at which point balancing for that pair stops.
  • For optimal balancing, especially with new or significantly imbalanced packs, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the battery pack multiple times.
