Model: MZPP05

1. Introduzzjoni

Thank you for choosing the Monzana MZPP05 Sand Filter System. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your new pool filter system. Please read these instructions carefully before use and keep them for future reference.

The Monzana MZPP05 sand filter system is designed to provide clean pool water with a high flow rate of up to 4500 liters per hour. It features a robust pump housing, a 4-way top-mount valve for easy operation, and a pressure indicator for monitoring the filtration process. The system can be used with filter sand, filter glass, or the included filter balls.

2. Istruzzjonijiet tas-Sigurtà

Dejjem osserva l-prekawzjonijiet ta' sigurtà li ġejjin biex tevita korrimenti u ħsara lit-tagħmir:

  • Ensure the power supply matches the specifications of the pump.
  • Dejjem skonnettja l-provvista tal-enerġija qabel ma tagħmel xi manutenzjoni jew tindif.
  • Do not operate the pump if the power cable or plug is damaged.
  • Żomm lit-tfal u lill-persuni mhux awtorizzati 'l bogħod mis-sistema tal-filtru waqt it-tħaddim.
  • The filter system is designed for use with swimming pools. Do not use it for other purposes.
  • Protect the pump from frost. During winter, drain the system completely.
  • Kun żgur li l-konnessjonijiet kollha huma ssikkati sew biex tevita t-tnixxijiet.
  • The system has an IPX5 protection class, meaning it is protected against water jets. However, avoid submerging the pump.

4. Setup u Installazzjoni

4.1 Preparing the Filter Tank

  1. Place the filter tank on a stable, level surface near your pool.
  2. Before first use, it is essential to completely fill the filter tank with water. This primes the self-priming sand filter.
  3. If using filter sand or filter glass (instead of filter balls), carefully pour the chosen filter media into the tank. The tank volume is 12 liters.
  4. If using the provided filter balls, place the 320g of filter balls into the tank. These replace 12kg of filter sand.

4.2 Connecting the 4-Way Valve and Pump

  1. Attach the 4-way top-mount valve to the top of the filter tank. Ensure a secure and watertight connection using the provided clamping ring.
  2. Connect the filter pump to the designated inlet on the 4-way valve.
  3. Wrap all external threads tightly and completely with the supplied sealing tape in the opposite direction of screwing to ensure a leak-free seal.
  4. When installing the pressure gauge, ensure the opening on the precision part's thread remains free of sealing tape to guarantee proper function.

4.3 Connecting to the Pool

  1. Connect the pool's skimmer/suction line to the pump inlet.
  2. Connect the pool's return line to the designated outlet on the 4-way valve.
  3. Use the 2-in-1 adapters (Ø 32 mm or Ø 38 mm) and hose clamps to ensure secure connections for your pool hoses.

5. Operazzjoni

5.1 4-Way Valve Functions

The 4-way top-mount valve allows for different operational modes. Always turn off the pump before changing the valve position.

Image 5.1: Settings for the 4-Way Valve.
  • Backwash (RÜCKSPÜLEN): Used for cleaning the filter media. Water flows in reverse through the filter, dislodging trapped debris, and is then discharged through the waste port.
  • Rinse (NACHSPÜLEN): Used after backwashing to flush out any remaining dirty water from the filter and settle the filter media. Water is discharged through the waste port.
  • Filter (BECKEN FILTERN): The standard operating mode for filtering pool water. Water flows through the filter media, trapping debris, and clean water is returned to the pool.
  • Winter (ÜBERWINTERN): A setting for winter storage, typically used to relieve pressure on the valve and allow for drainage.

5.2 Manometru tal-Pressjoni

The integrated pressure gauge allows you to monitor the filter's performance. A rising pressure indicates that the filter media is becoming clogged and requires backwashing or cleaning.

6. Manutenzjoni

6.1 Cleaning the Filter Media

Regularly check the pressure gauge. When the pressure rises significantly above the normal operating pressure (typically 0.5-1 bar above clean filter pressure), it's time to backwash the filter:

  1. Itfi l-pompa.
  2. Set the 4-way valve to 'Backwash'.
  3. Turn on the pump and run until the water flowing out of the waste port is clear (usually 2-3 minutes).
  4. Itfi l-pompa.
  5. Set the 4-way valve to 'Rinse'.
  6. Turn on the pump and run for about 30-60 seconds to flush the lines.
  7. Itfi l-pompa.
  8. Set the 4-way valve back to 'Filter'.
  9. Ixgħel il-pompa biex terġa' tibda l-filtrazzjoni normali.

If using filter balls, they can be easily washed by hand and are recyclable.

6.2 Winterization

Before the first frost, the filter system must be completely drained and stored in a frost-free environment. Set the 4-way valve to 'Winter' to relieve pressure and facilitate drainage.

7 Issolvi l-problemi

If you encounter issues with your Monzana MZPP05 Sand Filter System, consider the following common problems and solutions:

  • Fluss ta' Ilma Baxx: Check for blockages in the skimmer, pump basket, or hoses. Ensure the filter media is clean (perform backwash/rinse). Verify the pump is properly primed.
  • Ilma tal-Pixxina Mdardar: This often indicates insufficient filtration time, dirty filter media, or improper chemical balance. Backwash the filter, check pool chemistry, and ensure the pump runs long enough daily.
  • Tnixxijiet tal-Ilma: Inspect all connections for loose fittings or damaged seals. Ensure sealing tape was applied correctly to threaded connections.
  • Il-pompa ma tibdax: Check the power supply, circuit breaker, and ensure the pump is plugged in correctly.
