Setup

1. Installazzjoni tal-batterija

Rotate the top-most knob clockwise to power on the radio. Continue rotating to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and power off.

The RT668 features 16 channels. Rotate the channel adjustment knob (the second knob from the top) to select your desired channel. Ensure all radios in your group are on the same channel for communication.

To transmit, press and hold the large PTT button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the button to listen.

4. VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)

The VOX function allows for hands-free operation. When activated, the radio will transmit automatically when it detects your voice, eliminating the need to press the PTT button.

5. CTCSS/DCS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System / Digital-Coded Squelch)

The RT668 supports CTCSS/DCS codes to filter out unwanted conversations on the same channel. When enabled, you will only hear transmissions from radios using the same CTCSS/DCS code. This ensures clear voice transmission and communication security.

The actual communication range of two-way radios is influenced by several factors, including terrain, obstacles, radio power, antenna type, and atmospheric conditions. In urban, suburban, or rural areas, the range will be significantly less due to buildings, trees, and other obstructions.

To maximize range:

• Increase Transmit Power: (In theory, doubling transmit power extends range by approximately 1.4 times the original distance).
• Improve Receiver Sensitivity: Adjust the squelch threshold and use a high-gain antenna to enhance reception.
• Operate from a Higher Position: Elevate your position to reduce obstructions.
