Once the battery is installed and the unit is mounted, the smoke alarm is operational. A red LED light will flash periodically (approximately once every 30-60 seconds) to indicate that the unit is receiving power and functioning correctly.

  1. Press and hold the "TEST/SILENCE" button located on the center of the alarm.
